Privacy Policy

Salary Cat is a free game with no accounts, no ads and no in-app purchases. Your progress is saved on your device. We do not run servers that receive your game data.

Who we are

This policy covers the Salary Cat game for iOS and Android (the "App") and salarycat.com. Both are published by Max Martinez, Carrera 55 # 100-51, Piso 13, Barranquilla, Colombia ("we", "us"). Questions go to privacy@salarycat.com.

Effective date: November 5, 2026.

What the App stores, and where

Everything below is stored only on your device, in the App's private storage. We never receive it.

Data Why the App uses it Where it lives
Best score, total score, games played and coins collected To show your progress and unlock items Your device only
Characters, sushi and coffee you have unlocked, and the character you play To remember your unlocks and choices Your device only
Which achievements you have earned To avoid reporting them twice Your device only

The App does not ask for or collect your name, email, phone number, location, contacts, advertising identifier or payment details. It does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

If you delete the App, this data is deleted with it. It may be included in your own iCloud or device backups, which Apple or Google handle under their privacy policies.

Leaderboards and achievements

If you are signed in to Game Center (iOS) or Google Play Games (Android), the App sends your scores and earned achievements to that service so they appear on the leaderboard. The App also reads your best score back so your record survives a reinstall. Apple or Google runs these services under their own privacy policies, and they decide what other players can see, such as your player name. You can sign out, or change who sees your activity, in your device's Game Center or Play Games settings. The App works fully without either service.

Sharing your score

When you tap Share, the App takes a screenshot of the game, saves it in its private storage and opens your device's share sheet. You choose where it goes, and we never receive it. On iOS, the current version also saves the screenshot to your Photos library. iOS asks your permission first, and you can change this in Settings > Salary Cat > Photos.

Unity analytics in current versions

The App is built with the Unity game engine, by Unity Technologies. iOS version 1.1 and earlier include Unity's analytics service. It sends basic, non-identifying usage data to Unity: app start and session events, device model, OS version, language, country, an install identifier generated by Unity, and your IP address as part of any web request. It contains no game progress or anything that identifies you by name. We are removing this service in the next update. See Unity's privacy policy.

Earlier versions of the App included ads and in-app purchases. Current versions include neither.

Who we share data with

We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising. The only third parties involved are:

When you email us

If you write to privacy@salarycat.com or press@salarycat.com, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you send. We use it only to answer you, and we keep it only as long as needed for that. Ask us and we will delete the conversation.

Our website

salarycat.com is hosted by Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and runs no ads, analytics or tracking scripts. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details, such as browser type and the page requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Gameplay videos on the press page are plain links to YouTube, so nothing loads from YouTube until you click one. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Your choices and rights

Because your game data stays on your device, you control it directly: delete the App to erase it. You can sign out of Game Center or Google Play Games at any time in your device settings.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you have rights to access, correct, delete or port your personal data. Apart from emails you send us, we hold no personal data about you. Email privacy@salarycat.com with any request and we will respond within 30 days.

Colombia (Habeas Data)

For users in Colombia, this policy is our data processing policy under Law 1581 of 2012 and Decree 1377 of 2013. The data controller (responsable del tratamiento) is Max Martinez, Carrera 55 # 100-51, Piso 13, Barranquilla, Colombia, privacy@salarycat.com.

Children

Salary Cat is a general-audience game. It is not directed to children under 13, or the older age your country requires, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

Game data is protected by your device's app sandboxing and encryption. No method is perfectly secure, so please keep your device passcode on.

Changes to this policy

We will post updates on this page and change the effective date.
